Maya Fisher (she/her) is a Virginia born and raised clarinetist, independent multi-media artist, and arts administrator based in Miami, Florida. Maya has spent her undergraduate and graduate years studying clarinet performance at George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia and The University of Miami. As an arts administrator, Maya is currently the Director of Operations at Vocal Youth Miami and previously other youth music education organizations in Virginia and Miami, Florida. Maya has recently submitted writing for the arts and humanities website Public Parking and performed as an artist lecturer with the Miami-Dade Public Library. As a zine artist-publisher, Maya recently debuted her self-publishing project and collaborative project, southern Proletariat company at the 2025 black zine fair in brooklyn, new york. She hopes to advance her music and artistic independent work through publishing and performance.
